Plan Your Visit – What to Expect

Open Doors Festival 2024

Accessibility Statement

Our goal is to make the space a love letter to the body – to allow easy access to all who come through the doors and for people to know they are expected and welcome.  We will do our best to anticipate people’s access needs and be ready to accept requests.

At Woolly Mammoth – October 19

When you first arrive

Once at the Woolly Mammoth Door, you can use the automatic door opener to open the door. It’s touchless, just wave.

Come inside and sign in.

The First Floor

Take a look at the tables from various arts and disability organizations who want to show their support for arts and disability as a force for change.

And don’t miss the Arts Market to your left where several disabled visual artists will exhibiting and selling their work.

Downstairs

Spend some time enjoying an art exhibit featuring several visual artists.

Make sure you make your mark at the community art projects that will be going on all day.

This is also where you will find the various venues that our workshops, performances, and panels will use.

Moving Around the Space

To travel between floors, there is an elevator and two sets of steps.

Downstairs is a split level, which can be navigated by two steps or a single-use ramp. A volunteer will be present to assist in keeping the traffic going smoothly on the ramp.

Signage will be provided throughout the space

Restrooms

On the first floor, there are two single-use bathrooms that are accessible.

Downstairs, there are two multigenered bathrooms with many stalls including an accessible stall.

Noise Levels

We expect that the general noise level will be moderate.

Panels and performance should be on the quieter side.

The open spaces may have a lot going on at once, but an effort has been made to spread them out to counter overwhelmed senses

There will be a quiet room available downstairs

Accessibility Services

Panels will have captions and ASL interpreters

Performances will have captions, ASL interpreters, and audio describers.
