“As a disabled artist now working in New York, I feel strongly that Open Circle has given me the strength, confidence, and open-mindedness I needed to be able to “bet on myself” and further our collective community mission of fighting to make disabled artists present in mainstream media. Having a community of artists that I can fall back on when times are hard gives me the security and support I need to be able to be my strongest self in the world, knowing the power disabled art is capable of. I feel like I’ve found an artistic home with Open Circle.” —Hive Member Carrie Henley

The Hive hosts two types of meetings
Hive Drop-In Safe Spaces
In these uncertain times—and in response to a request from a Hive member—we host a Zoom gathering every Sunday at 5 PM. This is a safe, unrecorded space where members can come together to share what’s going on in their lives. It’s a casual, open environment with no set topic—just a place to connect and be with others.

These are gatherings centered around a specific topic or guest speaker. Topics are suggested by members, so we encourage you to share your ideas below.
